Steve and Lorraine Stephens

Steve and Lorraine Stephens have dedicated their entire adult lives to teaching, tutoring, mentoring and educating children and adults. They have worked  in schools, universities and work places across the world and for the past 20 years at  the Durham Centre for Education.  They have continued to be students themselves and have maintained their own educational skills and love of learning through study.

Why did Steve and Lorraine set up the DCEd?  Their aim is to help ordinary people achieve the extra that makes them extraordinary and for 20 years this is exactly what they have done!

To help someone succeed, you not only need to know how to teach your subject, you need to know the student.  You need to understand their current skills, their ability and learning style, and their aims.  Lorraine and Steve use knowledge of the student to make a programme of study that will motivate and develop their skills and challenge their own self belief.  They are committed to helping students of all ages become competent, confident and self-motivated.
